The LPA now works closely with both Leeds City Council and Unipol Student
Homes, a charity working to improve training, standards and professionalism
in student housing. These relationships help to promote the Leeds City
Council Code of Standards for Landlords renting outside the student market
and the Unipol Code for those renting to students. For those LPA members
renting to students they get a 10% discount on all Unipol's fees and by
being members of the Unipol Code they get a further 10% discount.
Unipol have launched a special scheme this year specifically for Managing
Agents where they become a 'Supporter of the Unipol Code'. So if you are
letting your property through a Managing Agent check to see if they have
signed up as it is free to be a member and students will be looking out for
the logo.
Membership of the Code is for a period of three years. Please feel free to
contact Nicola Brown, Accommodation Bureaux Services by email at n.brown@unipol.org.uk for more information.
Students are encouraged by their institutions and student unions to sign up
to a property covered by the Unipol Code, so being a member will certainly
benefit you. Sign up now and enjoy the many advantages of being a member,
including invites to exclusive training events, briefings, use of a free
online tenancy agreement generator and receive regular newsletters on issues
affecting the local student property market.
